Our Stone Coat Casting resin is designed to be poured very thick up to 1" per coat and dry clear, and our normal SCC epoxy is designed to be 1/8" or less and provide greater heat and scratch resistance. Casting resin will fill large voids but needs to be top coated with our normal epoxy for durability. When using our Casting epoxy you’ll want to pour ¼” at a time and take a torch to remove any air bubbles before pouring your next ¼”.
You can pour up to 1” in a 24 hour period, if more is needed, allow the epoxy that time to harden, then sand with 220 grit sandpaper, vacuum up any sanding dust and repeat the process.
This is a great quick clip that explains our Casting and Super cast epoxies and how to manage your pours - Casting vs. Super cast
Super cast is meant to be poured thicker than 1" per coat.
