Yes, you can use silicon to seal the joints on finished projects. For example where backsplash meets countertops, or where your shower walls meet up. Don't use silicone to seal old joints on projects you intend to coat with SCC epoxy because epoxy will not bond to silicone. Use bondo or painters caulking to pre seal cracks and voids in these cases.
